Some interesting potato factoids:

  • The potato is the fourth most important food crop in the world after maize, wheat and rice.
  • Potatoes contain complex carbohydrates (dietary fibre), which help in improving blood lipid levels, regulating glucose and lowering cholesterol levels.
  • Potatoes are naturally free of cholesterol and trans fats.
